on line communities
12.05.2005The list is steadily growing. Back, when life was simple, I had an email account, and that was pretty much it. Now, every new group of interests, whether personal or profesional, tends to bring a new membership invite into my mailbox. And while some of them are a lot more relevant that others, the list is still growing. Lets see what we have so far between various mesengers and on-line communities:1. ICQ2. AIM3. YahooIM4. MSN Mesenger5. LiveJournal.com6. Friendster.com7. Tribe.net8. LinkedIn.com9. WhereAreYouNow.com10. Clasmates.com11. Blogster.comOn top of that, various mailing lists, forum registrations, event subscriptions, membership news from various sources. On rough estimate, Id say that around an hour of each work day is spent just reading all the emails that come in. And no, it doesnt feel like its too much, interesting what one can get used to. But barely ten years ago, the year was 1995, and I dont think I even had my first email account. I dont even want to think what will happen in another 10 years.
